Takashi's angry howl reverberated throughout the whole chamber. “You... are not... an uncle of mine!”

“Takashi,” Hiro said calmly, helping Hihari up. “Calm down.”

“Kazekage is right.” Ken sounded amused. “You'll burst a blood vessel if you keep creating a drama out of everything.”

Kenji snarled at the wolf-man. “Fuck off.”

“Language, dear Kurokage,” chided Ken.

Yukio grimaced. “What are you doing here anyway?”

“Ah.” Large, furry paws were raised in a shrug. “I just came for a visit. My partner should have been here a while ago to destroy the Glacier village, but he seems to have been hurt by a pair pesky Storm-nin.”

The Raikage's eyes narrowed. “Who might those pesky Storm-nin be?”

“I don't know,” came the even reply. “They should be dead by now – my partner never leaves anyone alive.”

“Enough,” Hihari shouted. “No one is attacking this village, so you can get out of here while you can.” She unsheathed her katana halfway, prepared to fight.

“No,” Takashi said blandly. “I want to fight him.”

“But–”

“Let him do it, Hihari,” Kenji interjected. “He's obviously been bitching about this for years now, he wants to end this drama of his.”

Hihari scowled. “Fine. But if anything gets out of hand, I'm stepping in.”

“We all will,” Hiro said calmly. “After all... almost all the kages are here, it should be no contest.”

Almost.

Eye-catch! They speed through the near-flat terrain now. Their leader, they know, is agitated. One shifts his hold on the injured foreigners, who wince in pain.

“We're almost there.” They can feel the change in temperature. They can feel the bloodshed.

“Faster,” the foreigner urges. “They will have started the fighting.”

The other merely closes his eyes, his breathing uneven.

The foreigners are dying, they realize. They need help quick.

Takashi stepped forward, and so did Ken.

Hihari fidgeted nervously as she paced behind a calm Kenji, who was praying that the villagers had gotten out safely.

Yukio was mumbling some curses under his breath as he watched the grinning wolf-man.

And it was Hiro who noticed the tiny but familiar presence coming his way.

They were coming.

Eye-catch! She lets out a frustrated growl.

They had been here.

The people she has been have been here as well. She can smell their blood, feel their auras.

Her ears twitch, and she bares her canines before speeding off for them.

“Jagon,” the two uttered the word simultaneously, and the battle began.

They kept their eyes locked on each other, each trying to lose each other in their own powerful illusions.

They were so lost, in their own worlds. But the spectators of the battle knew that the powerful illusions were draining the power out of both of them.

Hiro took the chance to whisper to the other kages. “He's coming.”

Kenji smirked. “Finally.”

Yukio's eyes narrowed. “They have my nin with them.”

“It's no surprise,” Hihari said. “They always gravitate toward chaos and blood.”

Hiro grinned. “He's going to take that as an insult.”

Suddenly Kenji twisted backwards back to the battle as Takashi cried out and stumbled back.

He was crying.

He was crying blood.

“You've gotten good, dear nephew,” Ken finally spoke, his breathing ragged with effort. “But still not good enough.”

The wolf-man watched as the Mizukage fell backwards like a broken rag doll–

(Hihari was screaming for Itami, who was nowhere to be seen)

–Takashi was clawing at his bleeding eyes–

(“Stopstopithurtsstopstopstopppp-”)

– and all hell broke loose as at least half a dozen more nin dropped down from nowhere, whooping raucously ("The Migrant Village of the Sun has ARRIVED!"

Someone not much older than Hihari, pale skin glinting with melted snow, inhuman ruby eyes glinting, shoved a hand into Ken while taking advantage of the chaos.

The same hand came out, grasping his heart.

“Ken is dead.”

“What?!” Kuroi shouted, standing and slamming her hands down.

“His soft heart for his nephew – the Mizukage – has been his downfall,” Keiko said calmly. “He has served his purpose here. He can move on in peace.”

For a split second, everyone's eyes were on the pulsating heart of the wolf-man, even the screaming Takashi's.

But in a single, fluid movement, the hand yanked back, taking the heart with it.

Silence.

“That was unnecessary, Haruko,” Hihari said, her voice quivering.

The killer finally turned and stuck a tongue out at the Hikage. “Nice to see you too.” Dressed in simple black clothing, knee-length shorts, and with cropped hair that barely came to the shoulders, the androgynous creature with pointed ears and red eyes grimaced and licked blood off bloodstained fingers.

“Haruko?” Hiro seemed puzzled. “But that's a girl's name.”

“I am a girl, Bachiatari Haruko, at your service,” Haruko retorted sarcastically, kneeling beside Takashi and helping Itami heal his eyes. “So what, you've never seen a cross-dresser before?”

“Haruko,” Xavier said mildly, appearing out of nowhere. “What are you doing here?”

The girl bowed to her clan leader. “I was tracking the storm-nin that disappeared,” she said blandly. “They found them first,” she continued, jerking a finger to the other nin, who set the two storm-nin down on the ground. “I had no time to heal them because they were so insistent on getting here.”

It was Mikan that recognized them. “Aki! Toshi!” (< Haha. Akitoshi's the name of a freshman on my bus.)

And the leader of the nin that had brought them there stepped forward. "Yo," he said, lifting a hand in greeting. On his glove was a symbol of the sun.

"Akio!" Hiro grasped the Hoshikage's hand firmly, pumping it up and down jovially. "Long time no see!"

“Same,” Akio replied with a sunny smile. “It would've been better if the Shadow girl here hadn't stolen my kill.”

“Please,” Haruko rolled her eyes while moving onto healing the two Storm-nin with Itami. “Wow, someone messed you guys up pretty bad.”

“It was someone from Tri-Angle,” Toshi said hurriedly. “We found out something from him, something important.”

“They were trying to tell us what it was, but they were too badly hurt and weak,” another Sun-nin, Asako, said. “Besides, they should tell this information to their kage, not us. We have no business with the outside world, we're nomads.”

“You don't understand!” Aki hissed, her ice-blue eyes widening in sincerity. “It's something that can give them the upper hand in this war! We can be over if we don't get to what they want first!”

“What do they want so badly?” Yukio asked his subordinates calmly.

“Bijuu.”
